I am involved in the Make it Matter campaign because I feel as though it is incredibly important for more women to get involved with leadership roles on campus. Helen is an amazing leader who will go above and beyond in order to help other women succeed and that is one of the many reasons why I believe LSU should make her their next president. I can vouch for Helen from first hand experience because she is the reason why I decided to be a part of her ticket for College Council President for Humanities and Social Sciences.
I work at the Women’s Center as their Administrative Specialist and one day I was called into a meeting that was set up by a student who is concerned about women not being involved enough on campus. That is where I first met Helen Frink and Gabrielle Murphy. At the time I had no idea Helen was planning to run for President and didn’t have a positive view of Student Government at LSU as a transfer student from Tulane. However, Helen and Gabby were so welcoming and ready to listen to the concerns the women had in the room and how we can work together to fix as many of them as possible. They showed me that you don’t have to be apart of Greek life in order to have a say on campus and they inspired me to run with them on the Make it Matter ticket.
Electing Helen and Wesley will be a positive step for LSU in the right direction. Not only for women but for the student body as a whole. No one’s voice will go unheard.
